Description

OVERVIEW: The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a technical recruiter role specializing in the geospatial, surveying, and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) sectors, incorporating industry trends and hiring demands as of early 2026.

DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:



  • Perform full life cycle recruitment from opening job requisitions through issuing offers.
  • Utilize industry trends and/or social media to locate candidates.
  • Source passive candidates via recruitment marketing.
  • Collaborate on search strategy and leverage employee and manager networks to source experts in niche specialties.
  • Promote the company's employee referral bonus program, devising special campaigns or contests to create interest and excitement. Evaluate the effectiveness of the program and recommend improvements.
  • Attend career fairs and possibly organize company hiring events.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff within HR through the offer, acceptance, and onboarding phases.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • 5+ years of combined HR and full life-cycle recruiting experience, with a demonstrated ability to balance priorities in a 50/50 (HR/recruiting) role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Proven success recruiting niche, license-driven and field-based roles (e.g., Professional Land Surveyor/PLS, survey party chief, instrument person, SUE project manager, utility locator, CAD/Geospatial technician, GIS analyst, UAS/drone pilot) in a consulting/field-services environment.
  • Strong HR foundation across onboarding, employee relations, policy administration, and coaching managers with timely, well-documented guidance.
  • Skilled hiring manager partnership: intake meetings, role clarification, competency definition, interview plan development, structured evaluations, and debrief facilitation.
  • Sourcing strength across multiple channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, industry associations, schools/programs, job boards) and the ability to build pipelines for recurring roles and multi-office needs.
  • Ability to translate technical language into accurate job postings and screening criteria (e.g., survey deliverables, field-to-finish workflows, GIS data concepts, SUE quality levels, safety/field readiness requirements).
  • Comfort operating in a multi-office environment and partnering with operations leaders.
  • Willingness to travel for career fairs, hiring events, and occasional office/field visits.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
