The Edwin L. Herr Clinic is seeking responsible, organized, and hard working Penn State students to work at the front desk for the 2026-2027 academic year. We're looking for individuals who can work somewhere between 7-15 hours a week during our clinic hours: Monday-Thursday 10am-8pm. Qualified applicants will have initiative, be able to handle multiple tasks at once, be punctual and professional, and have familiarity with technology. Qualified applicants need strong communication skills, ability to take initiative, and interest in supporting mental health care.

Job responsibilities will include greeting and checking in clients, maintaining clinic schedule, making appointments, assisting with referrals, aiding in recording sessions, maintaining clinic technology, maintaining clinic cleanliness among others. Special consideration will be given to folks with strong social media and marketing background who would be willing to manage Clinic social media presence. Get real-world experience that is directly translatable to working in a university counseling setting and mental health agency.

Positions will be open until filled, and the job will begin the week of August 23, 2026. To apply you must be work-study eligible according to your financial aid report. The starting hourly rate for this job is $13.00. Federal Work Study job performance is evaluated either annually or through ongoing mentorship. Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a joband perform related duties eitheron campus, orremotely, if possibleand at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and the National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR).Additional clearances may be necessary if you resided outside of Pennsylvania in the past five years.
