Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduler responsible for establishing, maintaining, and executing accurate production schedules to support operational efficiency and on-time delivery. This role analyzes resource capacity, material availability, and production constraints to optimize throughput, minimize manufacturing cycle time, and manage inventory levels. The Production Scheduler collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align priorities, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure production goals are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner. Job Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and execute detailed production schedules to support level loading and optimize throughput.
Analyze resource capacity and production constraints to minimize cycle time, reduce inventory, and achieve on-time delivery targets.
Assist the Master Production Scheduler in determining and maintaining forecast and safety stock levels.
Direct daily workflow of work in process (WIP) through analysis of reports and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Align and prioritize shared resources across the facility to maximize efficiency and support customer shipping schedules.
Analyze daily parts and material data to establish production timelines that meet or exceed customer delivery requirements.
Communicate regularly with Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Purchasing teams to coordinate scheduling activities.
Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including manufacturing cycle time, throughput, past due order reduction, and on-time delivery.
Participate in and lead process improvement initiatives, including continuous improvement events and workshops.
Support the development and implementation of procedures that enhance scheduling effectiveness.
Contribute to standard work development and adherence to established processes.
Establish optimal inventory levels using just-in-time inventory management principles to achieve desired service levels.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the designated work site; relocation assistance is not provided.
Strong knowledge of production scheduling, manufacturing processes, and inventory management principles.
Proficiency in SAP ECC/MRP planning and purchasing modules preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies, including DMAIC, Kaizen, Kanban, pull systems, and statistical process control.
Familiarity with institutional problem-solving tools such as A3, 8D, root cause analysis, process mapping, Pareto charts, and design of experiments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a results-driven environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
Solid computer skills and ability to work with analytical software programs.
High level of discretion with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Strong ethical standards and the ability to influence decision-making aligned with organizational values and code of ethics.
Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret and communicate policies and practices clearly.
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Work Experience
Experience in production scheduling, manufacturing operations, or supply chain planning is required. APICS CPIM certification is preferred. Experience applying Lean or Six Sigma principles in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
