About This Role
The Associate General Counsel serves within Kansas State University's Office of General Counsel (OGC) and provides legal support across a broad spectrum of University operations. The OGC represents the University with regard to all legal matters and is comprised of 6 general practice higher education attorneys and 3 professional legal staff. This position will provide legal expertise and leadership on the University's transactional legal matters, including advising on contracting, data and information technology, real estate, construction, research, entrepreneurial endeavors, policy, and open records. The attorney will serve as OGC's primary liaison to the Divisions of Financial Services, Information Technology, and Facilities, among other major units and colleges, and will advise on regulatory compliance and other matters associated with the general practice of higher education law. The attorney works closely with University administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. The role requires strong legal judgment, interpersonal skills, inter-office collaboration, and a commitment to supporting the mission of higher education and Kansas State University. Worksite Description This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law.
