What to Expect
This position is a critical member of the ESD Control and Reliability Group at our new Semi manufacturing facility. You will implement, monitor, and maintain electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection programs to safeguard sensitive semiconductor components, assemblies, and systems during production, testing, and validation of the Tesla Semi and future platforms. The role ensures full compliance with industry ESD standards, mitigates risk through proactive testing and verification, and supports high-volume manufacturing in a precision-controlled environment. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and supply chain teams to uphold ESD integrity across all processes.

What You'll Do
  • Implement & maintain comprehensive ESD control programs including workstation setup, personal grounding & facility-wide safeguards
  • Perform ESD testing, compliance verification & audits of ESD-protected areas to mitigate risk
  • Conduct risk assessments for new processes & verify incoming materials meet packaging requirements
  • Train production staff on ESD awareness, best practices & proper handling of sensitive devices
  • Troubleshoot ESD-related failures using root cause analysis & simulation tools
  • Monitor & maintain ESD control equipment including ionizers, wrist straps & testers
  • Stay current with ESD standards such as ANSI/ESD S20.20 & drive continuous improvement

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in ESD control, electronics manufacturing or semiconductor environment
  • Strong understanding of electrostatic discharge fundamentals & impact on electronic components
  • Hands-on proficiency with ESD test equipment such as surface resistance meters & charged plate monitors
  • Ability to perform ESD audits, interpret measurement results & implement corrective actions
  • TR53 Certification or familiarity with ANSI/ESD S20.20, IEC 61340 or MIL-STD-1686 standards
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools, JIRA, Confluence & documentation systems
  • Demonstrated independent professional capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision
