Join the Revenue GPS Team as a data Operations Manager, playing a pivotal role in the end-to-end collection, processing, validation, and reporting of institutional equities data on a quarterly basis. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will act as the day-today owner of data for the Revenue GPS team, overseeing workflows, upholding data integrity and ensuring the timely delivery of accurate, actionable outputs to internal stakeholders and clients. This role is the key operational deputy to the Head of Operations. You will run the quarterly "engine", supervise an Operations Specialist, and contribute to continuous improvement as our data infrastructure and products evolve.

What the day will look like

  1. Operational Ownership
  • Own the quarterly data operations workflow for our global institutional equities performance survey, from initial client data requests through to final data outputs.
  • Manage the quarterly calendar and status tracking for 90+ participating firms, ensuring data is received, processed, and delivered on time.
  • Monitor progress, proactively identify risks and bottlenecks, and communicate status updates and issues to the Head of Operations and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve data, process, and system issues.
  1. Technical & Data Excellence
  • Oversee and support the loading, validation, and processing of client data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency throughout all stages.
  • Use SQL (and other tools as our data infrastructure evolves) for data interrogation, loading, quality checks, and analysis.
  • Leverage advanced Excel skills for data organization, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting, including custom extracts.
  • Help define, refine, and maintain data quality checks, validation rules, and exception handling processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation.
  1. Stakeholder & People Management
  • Serve as a key point of contact within the Operations Team for technical and procedural guidance.
  • Provide timely technical support and data analysis for the Client Service team, including investigating data issues and preparing ad-hoc data cuts and reports.
  • Manage operational interactions with client datasourcing teams at banks and brokerdealers to support timely, accurate data submissions and clarify issues.
  • Supervise and mentor one Operations Analyst:
    • Allocate and review work.
    • Provide coaching and feedback.
    • Support their professional development and foster a collaborative team culture.
  • Act as a deputy to the Head of Operations on day to day data operations, representing the function in internal discussions when required.
  1. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve data operations processes, controls, and tooling (e.g., automation of repetitive tasks, improved tracking and reporting, enhanced validation checks).
  • Partner with the Head of Operations and other internal internal collaborators to implement process improvements and support system changes and enhancements.
  • Identify recurring data issues and patterns in quarterly submissions and provide structured feedback into the evolution of data definitions, methodologies, and guidelines.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Required

  • Demonstrated experience indata operations, analytics, or a similar rolewith responsibility for recurring data workflows and the delivery of accurate outputs.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL using Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), including writing queries, views, stored procedures, and comfort working with relational data models.
  • Advanced Excelskills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and basic data visualization.
  • Proven ability to managemultiple priorities and deadlinesin a time sensitive, cyclical environment.
  • Exceptionalattention to detailand a strong focus on data quality and consistency.
  • Strongorganizationalandproblem solvingskills, with a proactive, solutions oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work bothindependentlyand collaboratively, taking ownership of outcomes and knowing when to escalate.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills, including the ability to explain data issues clearly to non technical collaborators.

Preferred

  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or informally leading more junior team members.
  • Experience working withexternal clients or partnerson data related issues (e.g., data submissions, quality remediation).
  • Familiarity withinstitutional equitiesor financial markets is a plus but not essential; a strong willingness to learn the domain is required.
  • Exposure to other tools or languages used for data manipulation and automation (e.g.,Python, VBA) is an advantage.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $130,000 - $150,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
