ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Systems Analyst analyzes the business requirements of the employees to determine business-concerned problems and recommends solutions. The Analysts define and apply technical knowledge for solving complex problems concerning business application systems. The Analyst is responsible for developing and delivering presentations to the clients and seeking business opportunities that help in development of technical specifications and detailed business, proposals and projected costs.

Sturgeon Electric's Commercial and Industrial (C&I)electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare programming and system documentation for other programmers and users in compliance with external and internal standards
  • Supervise and providing training, developing, and maintaining end user documentation related with administrative system
  • Analyze and plan the strategic needs of the company, which in turn helps in the growth of its business
  • Assist business units in the preparation of business process mapping and departmental procedures
  • Conduct task analysis and interact with system users in order to identify chances for the improvement of productivity, integration, and to decrease costs
  • Maintain a professional cognizance of techniques and tools that are used in the improvement of quality of service
  • Review, analyze, and modify programming system
    • Install, encode, debug, and test to support the organization's application systems
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Essential duties of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards, if applicable

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in programming and systems analysis-related activities

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or institution

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to design new IT solutions
  • Ability to understand complex database systems
  • Extensive knowledge of business
  • Strong knowledge of system analysis and workflow management
  • Ability to individually work on strategic issues
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to identify marketing and business requirements
  • Ability to provide individual and group-based seminar/workshop hardware/software training
  • Ability to provide solid customer service and exercise diplomacy
  • Sound knowledge of documentation procedures, programming procedures and methods, operator instructions, and program flow charts
  • Extensive knowledge of technology

Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary $77,000-$125,000 / year
      • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
