- Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services.
Responsibilities
- The Materials Tech II position coordinates and assists with the daily support operations, including inventory management and control. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
- Provides supply distribution support through maintaining commodity par locations, processing non-stock order requisitions, and receiving goods.
- Maintains warehouse and commodity par locations, including accurate replenishment, organization, labeling systems, and periodic par evaluations and adjustments.
- Processes non-stock order requisitions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follows up as needed; works effectively with purchasing.
- Follows procedures for the accurate receiving and delivering of shipments. Reconciles paperwork and issues to completion.
- Coordinates with Bio-medfor equipment that needs to be checked in or out of the facility.
- Identifies excess inventory, returning stock, and processing credits; notifies supervisor of out-datesor slow-moving inventory.
- Participates in the put-away and validation process of perpetual inventory items, and issues and credits materials from the inventory management point-of-use system.
- Maintains clean and orderly stock locations.
- Conducts annual inventory count to determine asset value and additional inventories as requested.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clinical leaders and teams.
- Participates in a variety of department-based and hospital-sponsored educational programs to maintain skills and competencies.
- Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups, demonstrating our commitment to "service".
- Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge. Effectively works as a liaison for nursing departments.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- One (1) year of related warehouse, inventory, or customer service experience.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Ability to work in a professional, multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to review information and take action.
