POSITION TITLE: Print Services & Mail Assistant
STATUS:Part-time
DEPARTMENT:Mail Center
DIVISION:Business & Auxiliary Services
CLASSIFICATION:Non-exempt
UNION: TOSSC-AFT Local 604
REPORTS TO:Supervisor, Print Services and Mail Room Operations
PLACEMENT:Grade 101
HIRING RANGE:$16.78 - $17.79 hourly

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the processing of Print Services and Mail Center orders; and performing associated tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operate Xerox production equipment, finishing equipment, and the Papercut Job ticketing system.
2. Create and reconcile Purchase Orders, answer e-mails, and assist customers with Print questions.
3. Deliver and pick-up "Rush" print orders, toner, and mail.
4. Assist with incoming and outgoing mail service - USPS, interoffice mail, First Class, bulk mail and department generated mass mailings.
5. Assist college personnel with USPS mail questions, explains services and suggests appropriate service to meet customer's requirements, by phone or in person.
6. Seal and prepare outgoing and interoffice mail for delivery which includes weighing, calculating and affixing correct postage.
7. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability or willingness to learn how to use a postage machine, electronic scale, and related equipment.
3. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; effectively and efficiently operate, repair, maintain, and service various print equipment.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability and willingness to work cooperatively with a diverse population.
5. Ability to lift and maneuver objects regularly with a minimum weight of 25 lbs.
6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
7. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
2. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. The position requires repetitive lifting and bending.
2. The employee must lift and/or maneuver objects regularly with a minimum weight of 25 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 95 pounds, maximum length of 96".
3. Color vision.
4. Campus is large and the employee is expected to walk multiple miles within a given shift.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual post office environment.
