Overview

SUMMARY


Performs (at the semi-skilled level) preventative maintenance and repairs to the aerial tramway. Shall practice good housekeeping, with particular emphasis on avoiding the development of any unsafe condition that might contribute to personal injury. Shall comply with the operational rules and regulations of the Goldbelt Tram.

Starting Rate: $30.00-DOE


Responsibilities

ESSENIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Using tools designed per the manufacturers' specifications, performs preventative maintenance and repairs to the tramway's mechanical components or electrical systems in accordance with ANSI codes; continually expands scope of skills while learning from the Tram Maintenance Supervisor
  • Ensures that a signed complete log is maintained wherein the actual execution of work shall be recorded. The log shall state the components serviced and the condition of the components. A record shall be kept of replacement components
  • Assists in expediting materials needed to do preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Familiarizes self with tram, maintenance, and operational procedures; learns and follows proper safety procedures at all times when performing maintenance work; uses proper safety equipment (i.e., harnesses, when climbing towers or riding on top of tram cars); applies lock-out tag-out procedures to prevent unexpected start-up and damage to equipment and systems
  • Participates in company and industry sponsored training to ensure that his/her training is kept current with common industry techniques and practices in emergency rope evacuation, emergency car evacuation, emergency drive operation, standby drive operation, top terminal generator operation, bottom terminal generator operation, and rescue winch operation. Provides, or assists with the provision of, training of same to designated employees with subsequent recording of activity; keeps current on proper emergency procedures to be followed and key employees to contact as the emergency response team
  • May work on special facility projects as needed
  • Authorized to discontinue operations of the aerial tramway due to physical, adverse weather, personnel or other reasons
  • To deny access to the aerial tramway to any person; using procedures and criteria provided
  • To oversee operational procedures and adherence to applicable regulations pertaining to the aerial tramway
  • When necessary due to personnel understaffing, unexpected absences, or emergencies, may perform the duties of a Tram Operator or Tram Attendant; on call during the regular tram operating season and will assist the Maintenance and Operations Manager when needed
  • Assumes responsibilities of Tram Maintenance Supervisor during his/her absences
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

  • I will yield the right of way to our guests during my travels throughout the Tram.
  • When possible, I will escort guests rather than pointing out directions to other areas.
  • I will keep all areas of the Tram clean and orderly.
  • I will be an expert at the products I sell. I will be familiar with and recommend the Tram and other
  • Goldbelt products to potential guests.
  • I will be knowledgeable of Tram hours of operations, special events and menus in order to answer
  • guest inquiries.
  • I will always arrive for work in a clean and pressed uniform and wear my proper nametag.
  • I understand that being on time and available to work the hours posted on the schedule is an
  • essential requirement of my position. I agree to call my supervisor if an emergency prevents me
  • from being at work. I understand the schedule may only be changed with a timely request and my
  • supervisor's approval.
  • I will learn my role in an emergency and will follow Tram procedures.
  • I will notify my supervisor immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment or assistance needs.
  • I will practice resource conservation and respect for Tram property and equipment.
  • I understand that I may be required to work on the Fourth of July. If scheduled, I will be
  • compensated at 1.5 times my regular rate of pay for hours worked.
  • My actions and words will demonstrate support for the Tram mission statement.
Adherence to these standards is a requirement of my continued employment with Goldbelt Tram.
Violation of these standards can result in discipline up to and including termination. By signing this
offer, I acknowledge that I have read, understand and agree to abide by the standards outlined in
this agreement.
Goldbelt Tram Reasonable Suspicion Standard
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace, Goldbelt Tram, LLC
conducts drug testing based on reasonable suspicion. Details of this policy, including procedures
and expectations, are outlined in the Employee Handbook, which will be provided upon your start
date.

Qualifications

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to learn how to physically climb out of the tramway cabin under the direction of the Maintenance and Operations manager and/or Tram Maintenance Supervisor
  • Ability to learn how to physically rope evacuate passengers and self from cabin.
  • Ability to read and interpret tramway and lift blueprints, manuals, and warranty requirements
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn, understand, and follow verbal and manual instructions; work independently and as a self-starter
  • General knowledge of mechanics, electrical controls, hydraulics, wire-ropes, and preventative maintenance procedures of aerial lifts or tramways
  • Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software.
  • Working knowledge/familiarity of tram operations systems
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees
  • Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis
  • Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to passengers those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of semi-skilled work, or advanced apprenticeship level experience in the electrical or mechanical field of work, performing general repairs and ongoing maintenance
  • Current CPR/AED and first aid certificates; or ability to obtain as soon as training is available
  • Current Rope access and/or Fall Protection certificate or ability to obtain as soon as training is available
