Job Description

SeniorSales Engineer

Role Overview

Serve as the key technical advisor in the sales cycle-designing and delivering tailored demos, shaping solutions, and guiding prospects from discovery through implementation readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and delivertailored product demos and technical presentationsto executives, business users, data teams, and IT.
  • Clearlycommunicate the value, differentiation, and architectureof Strategy's platform versus competing analytics and data solutions.
  • Leadtechnical and business conversationswith senior IT and business decision makers; confidently handle objections and challenging situations.
  • Coordinatepre and postsales activitieswith Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to ensure smooth handoffs and successful implementations.
  • Partner withProduct Management and Engineeringto relay customer feedback and influence the product roadmap.
  • Participate inStrategy's annual conference and marketing events, representing Strategy as a subjectmatter expert.
  • Contributebest practices, competitive insights, and reusable assetsto the Sales Engineering community.

Requirements

  • BS degree and5+ yearsof related experience (presales, sales, consulting, marketing, or training).
  • Experience withBusiness Analytics/BIorrelational databasesa strong plus.
  • Strongverbal and written communicationskills; able to translate technical concepts into business value for all audiences.
  • Proven ability tosolve complex technical problemsin complex customer environments.
  • Excellentorganization and time management; experience leading project workstreams.
  • Successful completion ofStrategy certificationupon employment.
  • Candidates should be located on the East Coast, as the role requirestravel to clients throughout the region.

Technical Skills (Data & Cloud)

  • SolidSQLand relational database knowledge.
  • Familiarity withcloud data platforms(e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Azure Synapse).
  • Experience withETL/ELTand data integration tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, Matillion) or custom pipelines.
  • Understanding ofdata modeling(star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling) anddata governance/security(RBAC, auditing, PII).
  • Nicetohave: exposure toAWS, Azure, or GCP, and designing architectures that combine analytics platforms with cloud data warehouses/lakes and enterprise systems; familiarity withAPIs and integration patterns.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptionalpresentation and communicationskills for Clevel, business, and technical audiences.
  • Strategic and tactical problem solverwith a consultative, customercentric mindset.
  • Comfortable owning outcomes incomplex, multistakeholderenvironments.
