Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the standardization, governance, and compliance of Industrial Engineering tools across the global enterprise
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of the assembly precedence networks and own the site-wide critical path improvement plan
  • Develop and implement optimized product flows through studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems
  • Utilize a systems-thinking approach to develop creative solutions for complex problems and drive consensus on technical decisions
  • Employ a variety of communication styles to ensure stakeholder and customer satisfaction through project updates, including presentations to senior leadership
  • Support digital transformation efforts and industrial automation projects where applicable

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • 0-2 years of related experience in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Industrial Engineering tools including project management, production systems, flow and capacity analysis, manufacturing methods, statistical analysis, and lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of IE Tools used in production including capacity analysis, theory of constraints, waste elimination, production improvements
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and project teams with a continuous improvement focus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specializing in Excel and PowerPoint

Summary Pay Range - Entry Level (Level 1): $59,800 - $91,650
