Mobile Mammography Driver

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Drives mobile mammography truck and sets-up for mobile sites. Establishes rapport with mobile mammographer and registrar to work efficiently as a team. Follows the proper procedures in conjunction with the established CDL and driving laws and regulations.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Familiarizes self with travel route and destination.

3. *Drives, sets up and prepares the Mobile Mammography Unit for scheduled screening services.

4. *Secures interior and exterior components.

5. Assists with setting up supplies and equipment upon destination arrival as needed.

6. *Secures and parks truck in warehouse when not in use.

7. *Maintains water and tanks in truck.

8. *Services the vehicle driven, including checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.

9. *Works with Fleet Coordinator in Cardiovascular Services (CVS) to develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for the mammography truck to reduce vehicle repairs and determines services to be

contracted to reduce downtime and overall cost. Helps coordinate transportation for the truck when service is needed.

10. *Works with the mobile Fleet Coordinator to keep the vehicle clean on the exterior and interior as scheduled.

11. *Participates in providing mobile services as required, operating hospital vehicles and complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

12. Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.

13. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

14. Participates in meetings, committees, and departmental projects related to quality measurement, reporting,, and performance improvement.

15. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of truck equipment and applications relevant to work functions.

2. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

3. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes.

4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.

5. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.

6. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

7. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

8. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid driver's license required. Valid Nebraska Class B driver's license with an Air Brake Endorsement required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
