Mandatory Personnel

Primary Purpose of Position
The Kitting Specialist is responsible for assembling, organizing, and preparing kits for manufacturing, assembly, or shipping processes. This role involves accurately picking, packing, and labeling individual parts and components into predefined kits based on specific orders or production requirements. The Kitting Specialist will ensure that all kits are completed on time, with high attention to detail, and in alignment with company standards for quality and safety.

High school diploma or equivalency.

Essential Job Duties
The MAL Kitting Specialist is responsible for assembling, organizing, and preparing kits for manufacturing, assembly, or shipping processes. This role involves accurately picking, packing, and labeling individual parts and components into predefined kits based on specific orders or production requirements. The Kitting Specialist will ensure that all kits are completed on time, with high attention to detail, and in alignment with company standards for quality and safety.

Duties Include:



  • Accurately assemble and organize materials, components, or parts into kits according to production or customer requirements.
  • Ensure that all parts and components are in the correct quantities and are in good condition before inclusion in kits.
  • Label, package, and prepare kits for shipment or delivery to Campus.
  • Follow specific work instructions, diagrams, or order sheets to assemble kits.
  • Maintain proper organization of kit components and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.

Other Work Responsibilities

  • Use and care for all manual and power equipment and chemicals in kitting operations
  • Work is guided by a daily schedule for general assignments.
  • Work is performed subject to close review and inspection with problems and special assignments not covered by instructions referred to a supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of materials and parts needed for kitting activities.
  • Monitor and track stock levels for kitting components and report shortages or excess inventory.
  • Work with the inventory team to help with stock rotation, cycle counts, and stock replenishment when necessary.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure that all kits are complete and meet established standards.
  • Report any defective or missing components and take corrective actions to prevent delays.
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation are applied to kits in accordance with internal protocols and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the warehouse, inventory, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate kitting of orders.
  • Notify relevant teams of any issues with materials, components, or kitting processes that may affect production timelines.
  • Continuously evaluate kitting processes and suggest improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Help streamline kitting workflows and contribute to the overall improvement of operational productivity.
  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Assist in maintaining organized work spaces and ensure materials are properly stored to avoid damage or safety hazards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or delegated. Follow established Facilities Management, UNC Charlotte and State policies and procedures.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have good organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to properly use and care for all manual and power equipment and chemicals required in Building Environmental Services and floor care functions.
  • Effective skills in verbal, written and interpersonal communications, however excellent communication skills are preferred.
  • Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new programs required.
  • Ability to effectively work/interact with persons to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
