JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure buildings and facilities are safe, functional, and well maintained. This role responds to maintenance requests, completes inspections, and supports daily facility operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical)
  • Diagnose and repair minor facility issues, including leaks, clogs, fixtures, doors, windows, and flooring
  • Conduct regular building and equipment inspections to identify maintenance and safety needs
  • Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner
  • Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and general upkeep
  • Assist with room setups, office moves, or event support as needed
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and inspections
  • Follow safety standards, building codes, and company policies
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training or certification preferred
  • 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read work orders, manuals, and instructions
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and focus on safety
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 50 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to perform physical and repetitive tasks
