We are currently seeking a motivated candidate for a Full-Time Real Estate Lending Closing Assistant to join our Mortgage Team at our Mortgage Office in Auburn Hills, MI.

Position Purpose: Responsible for providing effective administrative support for real estate lending closings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and the final steps of the mortgage process run smoothly for our members.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

  • Closing Coordination: Scheduling first and second mortgage closings with borrowers, branches, title companies, and notaries.

  • Administrative Support: Obtaining necessary payoffs and homeowners insurance documentation to clear loans for closing.

  • Quality Control: Reviewing loans before funding to ensure notes and mortgages are properly executed and documentation is recorded for correct lien placement.

  • Specialized Documentation: Preparing satisfactions of mortgage and mortgage subordinations.

  • Member & Team Service: Managing the closing hunt group phone line, addressing member questions promptly, and assisting internal personnel with inquiries before, during, and after loan closings.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Two years or more of experience in a financial institution is required.

  • One or more years of mortgage experience is preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Cooperative spirit with a "team player" attitude.

  • Proficiency with computer applications and basic business equipment.

  • Solid math skills.
