Job Description:

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineer to provide onsite support to the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) under the Engineering Technical Support Services (ETSS) contract. This role supports facilities engineering, operations, construction oversight, project documentation, and technical analysis to ensure successful execution of mission-critical work at NASA AFRC.

Salary range: $75-85K

Position Overview

The ETSS contract provides engineering and technical services across NASA AFRC facilities and infrastructure. The selected candidate will support engineering design, construction project development, specification writing, work planning, quality assurance, and technical documentation. The role requires hands-on interaction with NASA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities are included but not limited to:

  • Prepare design specifications using SpecsIntact for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Support development of Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER).
  • Use ArcGIS for facility maps, utility layouts, space usage, and construction site mapping.
  • Participate in design reviews using Bluebeam.
  • Develop Work Plans, Activity Hazard Analyses, and Traffic Control/Enclosure Plans.
  • Conduct field surveys.
  • Support compliance with Federal, State, local, and NASA safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide construction Quality Assurance (QA/QC), including onsite inspections and reviews.
  • Conduct daily inspections and prepare progress reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering OR minimum 3 years of experience in facilities engineering or related fields.

This is an On-site position at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC), Edwards, California.
