Description The primary focus of the position is supporting the campus network in Jefferson, however, the engineer will be part of the enterprise network team and may be working tickets for anywhere in the enterprise. The engineer will also be in the on-call rotation which has about 20 people in it. They will be secondary 1 week and then primary 1 week. The technology stack is primarily Cisco catalyst and ISR's with some ACI. We do have Juniper in the core as well. Knowledge of BGP, OSPF is required. There are hardware refreshes that happen every year as gear is phased out/replaced. How much depends on funding the agency has. While it doesn't require cloud networking, it would be beneficial. Knowledge of ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SD-WAN is desired as that is what this enterprise is moving towards. Skills: * Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and manage one's time. * Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. * Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage. * Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software. Additional Skills & Qualifications Education/Experience: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. * 5-7 years experience required.
