DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Space and Move Planner, with Design and Construction, participates in space planning, programming to optimize hospital, clinic, and administrative spaces, enabling work, and assists with the planning, development, implementation of projects and initiatives on the health campus. The Facilities Space and Move Planner analyzes current space utilizations and allocations and makes recommendations for best use and institutional priorities. Works in conjunction with the Space and Move Coordinator to update and maintain the space database (Tririga), identify opportunities for future space needs, and manages inventory and deployment of repurposed furniture. Oversees department move services PO's, chargebacks, and invoicing. Works closely with various user groups, as well as support services throughout the hospital to ensure smooth project delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, business, healthcare administration or related area, plus three (3) years of related experience/training, OR Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training.
  • Experience in space planning, functional-space programming, equipment planning, logistics planning, move management and coordination, and/or capital project development, preferably in a complex healthcare organization.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications and communicate information to lay persons.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical centers and university organizations, activities, functions, and goals.
  • Solid ability to work effectively in a team environment, in a dynamic environment of constantly changing priorities without compromising work quality and productivity.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of individuals across a variety of health systems and campus offices, architects, project managers and committees in meeting deadlines.
  • Effectively present findings and communicate clearly and effectively to a broad variety of people in writing and in person.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and applications, including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
  • Ability to employ interpersonal skills in situations calling for tact, diplomacy, and flexibility.
  • Experience tracking metrics, analyzing data, creating summary reports on key performance indicators.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in architecture, professional engineering, healthcare administration, or other planning-related field.
  • Experience with CAFM software for space management.
  • Experience in move planning, space planning, transition/activation, and logistics.
  • Exposure to clinical operations and workflow.
  • Demonstrated experience with HCAI and CDPH or similar regulatory agencies.
  • Understanding of medical equipment planning and procurement.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $42.15 - $77.39

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
