Position Summary
The Classroom & Event Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth classroom and event operations at the Terry Executive Education Center ( TEEC) in Atlanta. This position provides frontline support for evening and weekend academic programs and events, including classroom technology assistance, event setup and breakdown, facility upkeep, and general customer service.
The position will balance both technical and operational responsibilities. This role works closely with the TEEC Facilities and IT teams to maintain a high level of service for faculty, staff, students, and guests.

The position is based at the Terry Executive Education Center (TEEC) in Atlanta, located at 3475 Lenox Rd NE, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30326.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Basic familiarity with computer and AV systems (training provided).
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
  • Availability to work assigned evening and weekend hours on-site
  • Experience providing classroom, facilities, or event support in an educational or professional setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Physical Demands

  • This position may involve frequent movement, lifting, and setup of classroom/event furniture and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Standing, walking, bending, and light cleaning duties for extended periods during events and class sessions.

Classroom & Technology Support

  • Monitor classrooms and event spaces during operating hours and perform regular walkthroughs to ensure all spaces are clean, organized, and fully functional.
  • Provide tier-one classroom technology support, including troubleshooting AV systems, assisting with projector and presentation setup, and supporting Zoom or hybrid learning sessions.
  • Assist presenters and faculty in operating AV and presentation equipment; create support tickets for higher-level IT issues as needed.
  • Perform basic inventory tracking for classroom and event space technology, microphones, and other AV equipment.
  • Clean whiteboards and reset classroom spaces after each class or event.

Event & Facility Operations

  • Assist with setup and breakdown for events, including arranging tables, chairs, podiums, signage, and drink stations.
  • Maintain and restock TEEC drink stations, ensuring they are clean, organized, and adequately supplied.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and readiness of classrooms, team rooms, and public areas, restocking supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate with catering, housekeeping, and security staff to ensure event and classroom spaces are properly prepared and maintained.
  • Assist MBA and Executive Education programs with event support, including registration, guest assistance, and on-site logistics.
  • Provide on-site assistance during events by greeting attendees, providing directions, and addressing last-minute setup or technology needs.

  • Serve as a friendly and professional first point of contact for evening and weekend visitors.
  • Support basic administrative tasks such as logging service requests, tracking inventory, and updating event setup documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities coordinator, IT Specialist, and other TEEC staff to ensure consistent service and smooth operations across programs.
