Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Environmental or Civil Engineer to join our practice practices in our Anchorage, Alaska office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Perform and support task and project management functions, including the planning and execution of environmental projects, budgeting and financial oversight, adherence to schedules and quality standards, client satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Perform and manage technical projects in contaminant site investigation, mine reclamation, solid waste management, and energy transition, including preparing work plans, designing and implementing feasibility studies, treatability studies, cost/economic models, and remedies. Prepare technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, plans, and proposals.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform fieldwork such as multi-media sampling, drilling oversight, and contractor supervision.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or a related subject. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain within two years. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of direct environmental or civil consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
