Job Description

Summary

The Sales Manager is accountable for the profitable achievement of sales objectives associated with the assigned market, segment, and sales team managed. The Sales Manager is responsible for their assigned team's sales productivity, and directs their effort in order to have the greatest overall impact on company results.

The Senior Sales Manage manages all aspects of running an efficient sales team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, disciplining, and motivating direct-report sales associates.

The Sales Manager coordinates the activities of all sales segments providing a tracking/measurement tool for the sales group to understand measurables including targets and performance of each segment relative to their targets. Targets include revenue, margins and EBIT.

Essential Functions

  • Develop & implement a strategic marketing plan, sales plan and forecast to achieve Divisional goals
  • Helps develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performance programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ration and market share in relation to present standards and industry and economic trends.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating deals.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volumes, potential sales and areas of proposed client based expansion.
  • Prioritizes coaching and performance management efforts to have the greatest overall impact on business results.
  • Coordinates the involvement of support personnel, including customer support, materials, quality, technology, and management resources, so that team performance objectives and customers' expectations are met.
  • Proactively inspects sales activity and effort among sales associates managed, ensuring that the quality and quantity of sales effort meets company expectations.
  • Identifies deficiencies in skills among sales associates managed, and works to improve individuals' capabilities through coaching, development, and training.
  • Works with the General Manager to ensure market-level strategic and business objectives are met by the sales team.
  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
  • Positively impacts the performance of individual sales team members by implementing and managing support tools, including training programs, productivity initiatives, account and territory planning methodologies, and customer communication tools.
  • Leads forecasting efforts among the team managed, ensuring that accurate forecasts are completed in a timely basis
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer requirements and satisfaction by engaging key customer accounts in conjunction with sales personnel. Provides a management-level point of contact for key customers. Builds and maintains strong customer relationships.
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other departments, and key management personnel.
  • Directly manages the Newton, NC in addition to working with independent sales representative organizations, and distributors.
  • Coordinates company executive involvement with customer management.
  • Works closely with the Technology team to ensure customer satisfaction, and high levels of field sales support.
  • Meets assigned team quotas for revenue, gross margin, and strategic objectives.
  • Accountable for the thorough implementation of all customer related initiatives among sales personnel managed.
  • Achieves teams' strategic objectives defined by Senior Leadership.
  • Implements effective coaching and development of direct-report associates.
  • Recruits, hires, and develops associates, utilizing company human resources guidelines and support resources.

  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business related field.
  • Minimum 7 years' total commercial experience preferred.
  • Prefer metals background, with experience in the Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Power Generation, or LNG market segments.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE IN NICKEL WIRE SALES
  • Technical Knowledge of products and application uses

  • Ability to prioritize and multi task.
