Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Whiteville, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government corrections location as an armed patrol officer. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to situations with calm professionalism, and provide clear customer service and communication to staff and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, and you will bring our agile, reliable, and innovative approach while acting with integrity and supporting the team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and facility staff by carrying out armed, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government correctional location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinated communication with facility staff and local emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, grounds, perimeter points, and controlled access areas; working environments and conditions may vary by post.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and authorization for entry, and help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete required documentation such as patrol activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, and promptly report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations through the chain of command.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21+ Years of Age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • A Valid Firearms Permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
