Job Description




As a Security Officer - Parking Lot Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and help to deter incidents through presence and service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, perimeter lines, and adjacent grounds to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns and report findings.
  • Monitor access points and vehicle traffic flow, verify credentials as required, and direct visitors and deliveries according to site procedures and work-authorized areas.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner; provide initial incident documentation and notify site management and/or public authorities when needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, communicate notable events during shift turnover, and support emergency response activities as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
