| Position Highlights |
The Department of Internal Medicine is hiring an early career scientist with a focus on Liver and Lung Disease, mechanisms of Liver and Liver related Lung Injury. The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in an appropriate department, actively participate in teaching, clinical service and/or scholarly work, and must qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will meet the requirements of a career track faculty according to the College and University guidelines. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Responsible for operation of a specialized research area or lab operating with considerable latitude in un-reviewed actions or decisions.
- Collaborates in the development of new techniques.
- Co-authors or authors publications and may co-present results with principal investigators at meetings or conferences.
- Oversee day-to-day operation of study and may supervise other research and support personnel.
- Actively participates in acquiring research funding, including initiating and writing grant proposals. Research and other scholarly work.
- Develops, designs, and conducts one or more medium/large and complex research projects.
- Serves as a senior collaborator on a multi-faceted or highly complex research initiative, leading substantive aspects of the overall project.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Have an MD, DO, PhD or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrate a track record of publishing research findings.
|
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in undergraduate medical educations.
- Show experience mentoring students in research projects.
- Demonstrate experience supervising faculty and staff.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal communication and
professionalism skills.
