Job Description




As a Security Officer - Scooter Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with site personnel and the public while delivering respectful customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout transit facilities, platforms, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and pedestrian traffic, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and document observations and actions in written reports.
  • Operate security-related communications and monitoring equipment, report maintenance or operational concerns, and assist with crowd direction and/or line management during peak periods.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
