TEKsystems is currently supporting a transportation client in search for a backhaul coordinator in Burlington County, NJ. This position will be the primary support for securing backhaul transportation routes for the driver fleet. Applicants with experience in transportation and logistics administration are encouraged to apply. Description Maximize equipment utilization by securing profitable backhaul freight for drivers. This role works closely with outside freight brokers and internal operations team to keep trucks loaded, reduce empty miles, and protect margins. * Source and secure backhaul freight through established and new freight broker relationships * Negotiate ratesand terms to ensure profitable moves * Communicate closely with dispatch and drivers to align backhauls with schedules and equipment availability * Monitor market conditions and lane pricing to make informed decisions * Confirm load details, paperwork, and broker compliance requirements * Track backhaul performance and identify opportunities to improve utilization and revenue * Maintain professional, responsive communication with brokers and internal teams Qualifications * Experience in logistics or transportation administration/customer service * Experience in freight brokerage preferred * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Microsoft office Additional Details * Monday-Friday * 8am-5pm * On-site in Burlington, NJ * Contract-to-hire * Full company benefits and 401K option Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ.
