Job Summary

This is a full-time residential faculty position in the Nuclear Medicine department with the primary role of teaching didactic and lab courses in Nuclear Medicine including the specialty areas of Computed Tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). This position will include lab and clinical instruction. The Nuclear Medicine faculty position includes participation in program policy, procedure formulation and program assessment of effectiveness. The start date for this position is August 2026.

This role will require the following:
  • Current National Certification through NMTCB or ARRT


Essential Functions
  • Teaches lecture, lab and clinical courses; participates in the clinical education aspect of the Nuclear Medicine Technology/Computed Tomography Program
  • Position requires teaching over the summer
  • Develops course syllabi and teaching materials
  • Holds office hours to meet with students
  • Participates in college committees; assists in developing class schedules; assists in curriculum updates; assists in programmatic accreditation activities; and attends department meetings
  • Maintains currency with new trends and developments in the field by attending professional growth workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Maintains classroom and lab equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree or higher

OR

A Master's degree or higher in the teaching field

OR

A Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field

OR

A Master's degree or higher in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field

Must show completion of EDU 250 - Teaching and Learning in the Community College or sign up and complete the Springboard to Success training within the first semester post-hire.

Certified in Computed Tomography (CT) (to be in compliance with JRCNMT accreditation of the program) or ability to become CT certified within one (1) year of hire.

Desired Qualifications

A. Arizona State Licensure in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent
B. Master's Degree or above from an accredited college
C. Two (2) years' experience developing curriculum
D. One (1) year of experience teaching Nuclear Medicine courses and supervising clinical experiences at the college level
E. Experience with involvement in activities and professional organizations that promote the profession of Nuclear Medicine Technology
F. Credentialed in one or more of the following: Post Primary Nuclear Cardiology (NCT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
G. Credentialed in Computed Tomography (CT)
H.1 year full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years

Special Working Conditions
  • May be required to travel or be assigned to all GateWay locations
  • May require some evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
  • Position Requires teaching courses over the summer


Additional Requirements
  • Current National Nuclear Medicine Certification through NMTCB or ARRT
  • Certified in Computed Tomography (CT) through NMTCB or ARRT or ability to become CT certified within one year of hire.
