As a Trex Insurance & Risk manager, you will be responsible for the procurement, administration, and strategic oversight of the company's insurance programs. The role serves as a partner to various business units to proactively identify and mitigate risk. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of insurance and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Success in this role requires the ability to lead without direct authority and drive alignment on risk-related priorities through sound judgment and collaboration. The Risk & Insurance Manager will report to VP, Corporate Controller & Treasury with the Finance department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and foster our "people first" culture.
  • Lead the annual renewal process for all lines of insurance, including Property, Casualty, Cyber, and Executive lines.
  • Prepare insurance marketing materials and lead underwriting meetings with insurers and brokers to provide a comprehensive view of the company's risk profile and coverage objectives.
  • Prepare the annual insurance budget, forecasting premiums and claims costs within retentions.
  • Coordinate with brokers and internal stakeholders in preparing insurance submission.
  • Lead the Risk Committee comprised of key operational leaders for the implementation of risk improvement objectives.
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), and Fleet departments to promote risk management and ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to company policy.
  • Review contracts to provide risk management guidance to Legal and Procurement. Evaluate insurance requirements, recommend appropriate limits and issue waivers when justified.
  • Oversight of claim handling procedures to ensure proactive loss management and contribute to process improvement.
  • Ensure construction projects are adequately insured and that design elements align with the organization's risk management strategy.
  • Respond to all insurance related requests from internal and external parties.
  • Process all invoices for the insurance programs and claims.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with 5+ years of experience within a corporate risk management function, insurance company, or broker and a bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, financial management, or a closely related field.

Other Skills:



  • Demonstrate experience in evaluating and recommending risk management financing options.
  • Possess financial acumen to support risk strategies alongside business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills in gathering, reviewing, and preparing accurate data for insurance underwriting submissions to ensure comprehensive and competitive proposals.
  • MBA or equivalent certifications preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
