| Position Summary |
The Temporary Social/Clinical Research Assistant (RA) will provide focused support for community-based and digital recruitment, participant enrollment, and study procedures for the
RESPOND Study. The RA will work closely with study coordinators and disease intervention specialists to carry out protocol-approved recruitment and research activities, including in-person outreach and social media-based recruitment strategies, while adhering to all
IRB, confidentiality, and data security requirements. The RA will report to Study Coordinators in Charlotte and Chapel Hill, with PI oversight at
UNC-Chapel Hill.
Primary Responsibilities
Community & Social Media Recruitment
* Lead and support recruitment activities through both in-person community outreach and approved social media platforms.
* Assist with development, scheduling, and posting of
IRB-approved recruitment content on social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, community listservs, and partner platforms).
* Respond to inquiries generated through social media recruitment in a timely and professional manner, following approved scripts and workflows.
* Support recruitment efforts at community events and partner sites in collaboration with study staff.
* Distribute recruitment materials and clearly communicate study purpose, eligibility criteria, and participation requirements to community-based collaborators.
* Maintain recruitment logs and track outreach activities across in-person and digital channels.
Participant Screening, Enrollment & Study Procedures
* Conduct or support participant screening and scheduling in accordance with
IRB-approved protocols.
* Assist with participant enrollment and informed consent processes, as trained and delegated by Study Coordinators or PI.
* Carry out study procedures (e.g., surveys, referrals, follow-up activities) as specified in study protocols.
* Provide participant reminders and follow-up communication to support retention.
* Ensure all participant interactions are respectful, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed.
Study Operations & Data Support
* Perform timely data entry and maintain accurate study records.
* Assist with tracking recruitment metrics, enrollment targets, and follow-up completion.
* Update shared study calendars, trackers, and documentation tools.
* Flag recruitment challenges or workflow issues to study coordinators promptly.
Collaboration, Compliance & Training
* Work under the direction of study coordinators and follow established workflows.
* Complete required trainings (e.g.,
CITI,
HIPAA, study-specific procedures).
* Adhere strictly to
IRB requirements, confidentiality standards, and data security policies.
* Participate in regular check-ins with coordinators to prioritize tasks and adjust recruitment strategies as needed.
A combination of community-based, office, and limited remote work. Primary work location is Charlotte, NC. The schedule may include occasional evenings or weekends to support community events or outreach, with advance notice and adjustments. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
- Experience with community-based work, research support, outreach, or participant-facing roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort using social media platforms for professional or recruitment purposes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow protocols, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
