Overview:

Environmental Graphic Designer (Temporary) - Minneapolis, MN
Duration: March-August 2026

HGA has an exciting opportunity for a talented and passionate Environmental Graphic Designer to join our Minneapolis team in a temporary capacity from March to August 2026. In this position, you can expect to work on a variety of project types and collaborate with other interior designers, architects and engineers throughout the firm.

We are seeking a candidate with a high capacity for creativity and innovative design thinking. Using typography, art, color, creative solutions and innovative communication methods, this person should excel in helping to tell stories and develop solutions for branding, environmental graphics, audio/visual, wayfinding and signage and artwork solutions in a variety of built environments including, but not limited to, workplace, healthcare, and education facilities.

You will need to have:

    Design and facilitate projects in a collaborative team environment.
  • Facilitate the successful completion of projects that stay on schedule and on budget.
  • Conceptualize multiple initial environmental graphic design elements for a variety of projects and develop them into viable design solutions.
  • Integrate messaging, color, imagery and type into three-dimensional built solutions for wayfinding, signage and environmental graphic projects achieving a high level understanding of the visual intent.
  • Coordinate with vendors and fabricators to ensure final product is as intended, creating client satisfaction.
  • Comprehension of architectural scales, sections, plans and elevations.
  • Experience with documentation and management of wayfinding, signage and environmental graphic systems.
  • An understanding of code compliant signage requirements.

  • A storyteller who can translate brand, culture, and purpose into spatial experiences

You will need to have:

  • Degree in Graphic Design or Visual Design
  • 10+ years of graphic design experience in built environments
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with 2D/3D tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and/or Revit

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary range: $71,600 - $82,000.
