Responsibilities

The Corporate Banking Associate/Commercial Banking Specialist Team Lead is responsible for managing and leading a team of Commercial Banking Specialists (commercial sales support) serving the Business and Commercial segments or Corporate Banking Associates (commercial sales support and pre-closing Agent responsibilities) serving the Corporate and CRE segments (See Job Profiles for details). The Team Lead can also perform all the duties of a Corporate Banking Associate or Commercial Banking Specialist.

Key Accountabilities

This role has the core job requirements of a Corporate Banking Associate or Commercial Banking Specialist and assists their assigned Relationship Manager Team with:

    The Loan Process
  • Portfolio and Credit Administration
  • The Depository Process
  • Sales Support, Business Development and Administrative needs
  • All client servicing matters (See Corporate Banking Associate or Commercial Banking Specialist Job Profiles for detailed accountabilities)

In addition to the core job requirements, the Team Lead also is accountable for:

Team Leadership

  • Perform various management responsibilities including staffing needs evaluation, performance management, coaching, recruiting/hiring.
  • Advocates for a consistent client experience and the implementation of efficient processes
  • Promotes collaboration with Bank Partners and provides solution-based feedback

  • Coach and empower others - Provide timely feedback, support and guidance to encourage and support associates to accomplish tasks, solve problems and enhance their professional development.

Execution Leadership

  • Problem Solving and Decision Making - Seeks to identify what caused the issue, consults with lines of business and subject matter experts, as appropriate, to determine the best solution and acts within approved policies, procedures, and established guidelines.

Client Leadership

  • Client Focus - Is a model for their direct reports in putting the client at the center of all decisions; taking actions to create a high level of service to internal and external clients; and making/maintaining long-term relationships with clients.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Administrative Services/Business or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with commercial banking processes required; management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of bank documents, commercial regulation and bank compliance policies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Priority focus on providing excellent service to RMs, Clients and Bank Partners.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in working with RMs, Clients and Bank Partners.
  • Appropriate attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to adapt and manage changing priorities and deadlines.
