Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Maritime Systems Engineer in support of the Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Maritime (PEO-M). The premier SOF acquirers in PEO Maritime are committed to delivering the highest quality technologically advanced combat diving equipment, surface systems, and undersea platforms globally to Naval Special Warfare operators. This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill AFB, FL.
Responsibilities
Evaluates and recommends programs and development plans, utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering.
- Works with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.
- Provides inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs and projects.
- Supports technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs.
- Support government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Provides advanced inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
- Supports contract modification and makes technical recommendations for change order approval. Supports budget control, directly supporting the engineering effort. Provides decision support inputs for approval of plans, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
- Applies advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks.
- Plans, executes, and documents surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.
- Provides significant, expert-level support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Completes advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.
- Provides expert-level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolutions.
- Analyzes trends in performance indicators to assist government counterparts with managing agency-level performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency (DAWIA level II equivalent) Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience, including
- Expert knowledge of unique design requirements and functionality of ungrounded maritime electrical systems.
Expert knowledge in the integration of Electro-Optical-Infrared sensors, Cyber security, SOF Maritime System Data Management and SOF-unique communications systems into Maritime command and control systems. - Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System test processes and procedures
- Experience with Government developmental/operational testing & evaluation, production acceptance testing, and post-depot availability acceptance testing
