POSITION OVERVIEW:
Maintain environmental compliance with corporate policy and other regulatory agencies. Proactively work to reduce the company's exposure to liability. Manage projects to ensure work meets specifications stated in contract

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain corporate regulatory compliance for underground and above ground storage systems
  2. Maintain corporate regulatory compliance for storm water regulations and other regulations under the Clean Water Act
  3. Manage program for maintenance of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans
  4. Manage environmental site investigation and remediation projects
  5. Retain and manage consultants to conduct environmental site assessments
  6. Review, interpret and advise Real Estate of any environmental concerns and recommend appropriate actions to minimize liability exposure as it relates to real estate acquisitions, sales and leases
  7. Responsible for Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (ERCRA) reporting
  8. Maintain corporate level asbestos management program
  9. Responsible for indoor air quality issues including retention of qualified contractor to conduct indoor air quality studies, review and communication of recommended corrective actions to appropriate departments
  10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  11. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in, Civil, Environmental Engineering, environmental sciences or other relevant degrees plus 3 (three) years environmental regulatory compliance experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory framework as it relates to storm water
  • Knowledge of underground and above ground storage tank regulations
  • Familiarity with procedures and methods for assessment of soil and groundwater contamination
  • Ability to read and interpret technical reports
  • Project management skill required to work with vendors, contractors, consultants and employees
  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to interact with employees and management across all levels, including outside vendors and governmental regulatory agencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Details: This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.
