Responsibilities

As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for finalizing the payroll close process, including scheduling, banking transactions, tax file submissions, leave accruals, and reconciliation activities across multiple pay groups.

  • Schedule and process regular, manual, and supplemental payrolls for each pay group.
  • Print and send paper checks for termed employees via FedEx.
  • Send copies of paystubs for termed employees to be mailed.
  • Create and release direct deposit files to the bank in a timely manner.
  • Create, balance, and send AP Garnishment files; release EFTS CS files to the bank.
  • Upload tax files to ADP Smart Compliance in a timely manner.
  • Process flips, releases, and voids in the banking system and PeopleSoft; key stop payments and approve positive pay.
  • Reconcile payroll bank transactions; send ACH Return Reports; conduct unclaimed property research.
  • Serve as the primary contact for care centers regarding rapid paycards; maintain address database, distribute cards, and manage supply requests.
  • Run and submit quarterly Multiple Worksite Reports via the agency website.
  • Respond to calls and inquiries regarding payroll, direct deposit, and rapid paycard matters.
  • Track payroll variances and email payroll summary reports to Accounting.
  • Notify manager of issues and work toward timely resolution.
  • Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required-
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3+) years' experience in electronic payroll functions.
  • Five (5+) years' experience processing on PeopleSoft payroll software.
  • Strong data entry skills with emphasis on numeric data entry and ability to key with a high level of accuracy.
Preferred-
  • Post-secondary education or training in a related field.
  • Some familiarity with ADP Smart Compliance
  • Some understanding of payroll taxes.
