The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Financial Evaluations, this position is responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's financial evaluation processes.

This role collaborates with business development leaders and teams across North America to develop comprehensive financial models to assess capital investments and strategic opportunities, ensuring independent oversight of project due diligence and alignment with company goals and risk tolerance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business development leaders and teams across North America to develop comprehensive financial models that evaluate capital investments and strategic opportunities

  • Provide independent oversight of project due diligence in the assessment of capital investment opportunities, aligning with company goals and risk tolerance

  • Establish and maintain a robust financial evaluation framework aligning with the company's capital allocation governance approval process, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax standards, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements across the jurisdictions in which the company operates

  • Perform advanced financial modeling, including pro formas, valuation, EPS accretion/dilution, credit metrics, etc.

  • Present financial findings and recommendations to business development leaders and teams across North America, executive leadership, investment committees and external partners to support informed decision-making

  • Function as a thought leader and strategic advisor, providing financial guidance and insights to non-financial stakeholders across the company

  • Partner with internal teams across the organization to ensure the accurate reflection of growth capital projects in the company's long-term plan and financial statements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field

  • 10 years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis

  • Strong understanding of cost-of-service rate design and policy regulations within the jurisdictions in which the company operates natural gas pipelines across North America (FERC, CER and CNE), or other utility experience from a commercial or regulatory perspective

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, CFA or CPA

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information and non-traditional assignments into actionable insights

  • Thought leader with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify and address financial and business risks
