Title: Manager Corporate Affairs

Location: Washington, DC (REQUIRED)

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: HYBRID position

Position Summary

Fortune 10 company seeks a highly skilled, politically savvy professional to manage and execute high-impact special projects within the Government Affairs and Public Policy teams. Reporting directly to the SVP, Corporate Affairs and based in Washington, DC, this individual will oversee complex, crossfunctional projects intended to mitigate emergency policy and political risks, and advance and advocate for McKesson's public policy priorities. This role requires exceptional project management skills, strong political acumen, creative problem solving and an aptitude for using AI and digital tools to accelerate analysis, decision-making and operational execution. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and works closely with the Corporate Affairs leadership team (including Government Affairs, Public Policy and External Communications), and with key stakeholders throughout the enterprise. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, resourceful, selfstarter who thrives in ambiguity, excels at stakeholder management, and brings strong judgment when navigating sensitive government affairs matters.

Current Need

Position has high visibility and exposure both within and outside of the company and is critical to the continued enhancement and success of the Corporate Affairs department.The candidate will gain experience across Corporate Affairs disciplines with growth opportunities as capabilities increase. The candidate must be versatile with outstanding verbal and written communications skills, strong executive presence, creative and high energy, keen project management experience and able to work independently.Additionally, the role must build, maintain, and strategically influence relationships across all areas of the company, with a particular focus on other corporate functions (General Counsel Organization, Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Strategy) and business units. The role often serves as a liaison for the SVP Public Affairs with corporate executives and senior business leaders, as well as with external consulting firms, senior government officials, trade association executives and consultants.This manager must be on top of all pending projects and priorities throughout the department, be able to extract critical information, exercise steady judgment to respond to crises, and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities - May include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as a versatile contributor across corporate functions, with a focus on Government Affairs and Public Policy, as priorities dictate.
  • Manage sensitive, fastmoving projects requiring discretion, executive presence, and the ability to anticipate the needs of senior leadership.
  • Provides support to and essentially serves as the SVP's "right hand."
  • Responsible for developing and managing processes to anticipate need as well as solicit and manage the deliverables from others, including the preparation of materials, documents, presentations, and other information necessary for briefings, presentations, reports, and other SVP meetings.Liaison between SVP Corporate Affairs, as appropriate, with internal and external partners to independently manage projects, preparation, and follow-up.
  • Design and manage AI workflows and Copilot agents to automate repetitive tasks and enhance productivity.
  • Assume other project and department management responsibilities as requested by the SVP, Public Affairs, in support of the department's goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in government affairs, political strategy, public policy, public affairs, consulting, or related projectdriven work.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, high visibility and highstakes initiatives with political, regulatory, or reputational implications.

Critical Skills

  • Attention to detail; well-organized with ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects in the face of often rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of federal policy dynamics, political risk environment, and legislative/regulatory processes.
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills, with a proven ability to operate in fastmoving and ambiguous environments.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and AIenabled productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, data analytics platforms).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work crossfunctionally at all levels.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI and digital analytics tools, including creating AI Agents with Microsoft Copilot and deploying workflows using Power Automate.
  • Practical experience in integrating AI technologies and digital analytics tools to inform decisionmaking, accelerate work, and generate insights.
  • Experience working with government officials, trade associations, policy experts, or external consultants preferred.
  • Healthcare experience/knowledge preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Government or related field.

Minimum Education & Typical Experience or Equivalent Combination

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$74,200 - $123,600
