Job Description

Position Purpose

Serves as the intermediary between the customer and the Move Contractors' Project Manager. Coordinates workload tasks in conjunction with customer requested times and daily schedule and jobs estimates received (i.e. staffing, equipment, time, and costs) from the Move Contractor. As a collaborative effort the Move Coordinator will interact daily with the Move Contractor and the GSFC customer to identify potential problems and develop workarounds to ensure relocations are performed efficiently and completed satisfactorily. The Move Coordinator shall be experienced with movements of free-standing, systems, or modular furniture, breakdowns, set-ups and when appropriate utilizes items made available from the reutilization program. The Move Coordinator will perform data entry tasks and other related jobs in support of Transportation Branch operations. Additionally, the Move Coordinator will prepare, maintain, and consolidate a variety of transportation statistical reports. Move Coordination duties may be conducted at various locations to include all Goddard Space Flight Center locations (WFF, IV&V and GISS) and the greater Baltimore-Washington DC metropolitan area.


Duties and Responsibilities

* Coordinates, documents, and monitors office moves

* Provides face-to-face coordination with the customer to help ensure that all move requirements are adequately identified

* Interacts with Move Contractors' Project Manager on all move requests so that job completion will be accomplished during the weekday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM timeframe

* In conjunction with the Move Contractor, provides budgetary estimates/cost analysis to customers

* On large relocation efforts the Move Coordinator attends coordination meetings and make recommendations and assessments related to services requested

* Provides all appropriate move information to the Move Contractor, who is primarily responsible to perform walk-throughs with the customer to determine manpower, equipment, and time completion estimates

* The Move Contractor can request the Move Coordinator's participation in walk-through as required

* Interfaces with the customer and the Move Contractor on the projected move date to resolve all questions or problems

* Provides guidance and assistance to the customer for damage claims, from initiation to resolution

* Participates in post move meetings with the customer, company/government management, and Move Contractor to determine lessons learned that may be used to update the Work Instruction

*Assists the customer in preparing the office moves customer service survey

* Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Five years of progressive experience in a position providing broad-based office move support

* Working knowledge of commercial carrier contracts, claim procedures, and invoice verification

* Possess the ability to perform job requirements with minimal guidance and direction from the Transportation Branch Manager

* Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively

* Ability to work in conjunction with the Move Contractor, customers, and management

* Ability to resolve problems/conflicts related to moving tasks

* Working knowledge of free standing, systems, and modular furniture (i.e. manufacturers, products and layouts)

* Strong communications skills (written and verbal)

* The work of this position is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment

* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time

Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions

* Must be able to successfully complete a background screening

* Must possess or be able to obtain a public trust clearance prior to employment and maintain public trust clearance for the duration of employment

Rate of Pay/Benefits

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000
