Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational activities of the program.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Provides frontline customer service to students, advisors, faculty, and campus partners by responding to inquiries related to TSI placement, exemptions, course pairings, testing, and holds through email, phone, and Teams communication channels.
  • Manages daily communication workflows, including monitoring and responding to departmental inboxes, routing escalated cases to the Program Director or data requests to the Data Analyst, and maintaining organized records of student interactions.
  • Maintains and updates the College Readiness and TSI websites, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and compliant with institutional communication standards. Coordinates updates with Marketing, Communications, and IT Web teams.
  • Develops and produces student facing materials, including handouts, guides, infographics, digital content, and event materials used for orientations, resource fairs, and other outreach activities.
  • Identifies common questions, recurring issues, and communication gaps, making minor adjustments to processes, messaging, or student resources to improve clarity and operational effectiveness. Independently proposes solutions for review.
  • Maintains familiarity with TSI placement rules, institutional processes, co-requisite course structures, and registration workflows to ensure accurate and consistent guidance is provided to students and advisors.
  • Maintains internal resources, such as communication templates, advisor reference materials, and process guides, ensuring consistency in departmental messaging and student support.
  • Supports departmental events and outreach, including assisting with setup, providing information to attendees, and representing College Readiness at orientations, campus activities, and recruitment events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The position requires knowledge of TSI placement rules, institutional academic processes, and frontline customer service practices, along with skills in clear communication, active listening, and managing multiple student support channels. The coordinator must be able to maintain accurate records; create and update website content and student-facing materials; and effectively use Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, and related systems. The role requires the ability to explain complex information in a student-friendly manner, work independently to resolve routine issues, make minor improvements to communication processes, and interact professionally with diverse students, advisors, and campus partners while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Required Qualifications

High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelors degree is preferred. Additional preferred qualifications include experience in higher education or student services roles, especially those supporting academic processes. Preference will be given to candidates with skills in website content updates and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and institutional systems. Strong communication skills, accuracy in handling student information, and the ability to independently resolve routine issues or suggest process improvements are also desired.
