Position Summary

Position Summary:

  • Directs the implementation and development for all areas of Corporate Enterprise Systems. Plans, design, installs and maintains the system/services required to operate and support the enterprise system(s). Responsible for establishing and implementing policies, procedures and priorities supporting the use and management of the system(s).
  • Works with Corporate and Group staff. Supervises enterprise managers, technical managers, project leaders, and technical analysts. Maintains working relationships and negotiates with outside vendors, contractors, and consultants. This position has direct reports.

Responsibilities

Specialty Focus:

  • Responsible for all Parker Digital and Information Technology Finance Systems globally.
  • Leads a global team of Managers, developers and subject matter experts to ensure the smooth, accurate, timely and always available technology in our Digital and IT Finance Systems.
  • Closely partners with the senior financial leadership of Parker at both Group and Corporate on systems strategy and priority alignment.
  • Subject matter expert that understands key financial accounting concepts in a large global enterprise.
  • Leads a highly skilled global team supporting a mixture of legacy mainframe and midrange tools as well as modern SaaS platforms.
  • Provides direction of all aspect of Finance IT systems - transactional, analytical, regulatory and controls.
  • Thought leader in the advancement and modernization of digital and IT financial systems in a global manufacturing firm, including our long-term aspiration of a single global SAP platform.
  • Finance systems include (partial list): SAP, JD Edwards, IBM mainframe Cobol based apps (AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets), Concur, Blackline, AutoRek, SAP S/4, Thompson Reuters tax, 50+ Parker developed applications, Transform, Cforia, Avalara, RedWalls Imaging, d3, OneSource, Workiva.
  • Responsible for IT support in the European Shared Services Center.

    Responsibilities

  • Directs the design, implementation and maintenance of I/T solutions and systems that are standard systems used extensively within the corporation.
  • Assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of enterprise systems to ensure user requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Develops enterprise systems standards to provide the flexibility to meet future needs. Identifies and recommends enhancements to enterprise systems.
  • Provides consulting services to the business units for the development and use of enterprise systems. Assist users to develop an annual information services plan. Identifies and develops with user input the requirements to assure continued, effective use of the system(s).
  • Develops critical vendor relationships to support Parker Enterprise Systems and services. Partners with vendors to ensure the most cost-effective use of resources are used. Researches and seeks new and improved state-of-the-art methods which are cost efficient with return on expenditures.
  • Develops an annual plan and budget to accomplish enterprise objectives within the framework of user needs.
  • Ensures business continuity plans and procedures are developed properly to support continuing operations in disaster situations. Maintains back up conditions, recovery and ongoing operation for the company and conducts regular testing.
  • Responsible that projects are planned, scheduled, monitored properly and that effective communication with management to convey project status is conducted.
  • Partners with European data center staff to develop and support standard solutions for global use and continuity.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 4-year University/College degree, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in roles of progressive responsibility in IT.
  • Additional benefit if the candidate has been in a Finance team role.
  • Project leader experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Overall experience; ten years of some combination of the above.
  • Effective managerial skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to act as a resource for other members of the Information Systems staff and client users.
