What You Will Experience In This Role: Inventory Locator Service (ILS) is looking to hire a Director of Information Services to join our team. In this role, you will lead the teams and capabilities responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable technology services across the organization. This includes application development, enterprise applications and integrations, IT operations and service delivery, infrastructure on premise/cloud platforms, data and reporting services, IT security governance, and end-user support. You will partner with business leaders to align technology strategy with Company goals, improve customer and employee experience, and ensure operational excellence through strong governance, metrics, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Strategy, Leadership & Governance:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Information Services strategy and roadmap aligned to Company goals, balancing innovation, speed, reliability, security, and cost effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain IT governance practices including portfolio prioritization, standards, architecture alignment, risk management, and performance reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and manage managers/leads and teams across application development, enterprise systems, integrations, data/reporting, infrastructure on premise/cloud, and IT service management.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture with clear accountability, capacity/resource management, and measurable outcomes (e.g., availability, delivery predictability, velocity, customer satisfaction).
- Build and manage budgets, forecasting, vendor spend, licensing, and total cost of ownership for technology platforms and services.
Application Development & Delivery :
- Develop and execute strategy for web and custom application development; stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of application delivery (planning, design, build, test, release, and support) ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure strong practices for SDLC, CI/CD, test automation, release management, environment management, and production readiness.
- Experience with API development, documentation, management, and integration patterns.
IT Operations, Service Delivery & End-User Experience :
- Own IT service delivery across the enterprise, ensuring consistent, high-quality support and measurable service performance.
- Implement and mature IT Service Management (ITSM) practices (incident, problem, change, request, knowledge, asset/configuration management).
- Define and manage service level objectives/agreements (SLOs/SLAs), on-call/after-hours support expectations, escalation paths, and root-cause analysis practices.
- Monitor and improve application and platform performance, availability, and reliability; drive corrective and preventive action plans with stakeholders.
- Lead end-user technology strategy (devices, collaboration tools, identity/access, onboarding/offboarding, training) to improve employee productivity and satisfaction.
Infrastructure, On Premise/Cloud & Platform Services:
- Provide oversight of infrastructure and on premise/cloud platforms (networking, compute, storage, backup/DR, monitoring, endpoint management) to ensure scalability and resilience.
- Establish disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities, including testing and recovery objectives (RTO/RPO) appropriate for business needs.
- Ensure operational tooling and observability are in place (monitoring, alerting, logging, performance analytics).
Security, Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure all applications, systems, and services comply with relevant regulations, security standards, and internal policies.
- Partner with security stakeholders to drive secure-by-design practices, vulnerability management, access controls, audit readiness, and incident response preparedness.
- Manage third-party/vendor risk and ensure vendors meet security and service expectations.
Data, Reporting & Business Enablement:
- Partner with business leaders to enable data-driven decision making through reliable reporting, analytics, and data integration capabilities.
- Promote data quality, stewardship, and appropriate access controls for reporting and operational data.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Vendor Management:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, sales, finance, operations) to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure effective delivery of projects and services; develop strategic partnerships when needed.
- Collaborate with other IT leaders across CAMP to standardize processes and procedures necessary to develop, monitor, and maintain cross-CAMP integrated solutions.
People Leadership:
- Motivate and coach employees toward operational excellence; set performance goals and expectations; provide training and development opportunities.
- Demonstrate effective employee communication and performance management, including development plans and succession planning.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology (or related field) required; master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience across multiple domains (application development plus at least two of: IT operations/service delivery, infrastructure on premise/cloud, enterprise applications, data/reporting, security governance).
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including leading leaders/managers and building high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and critically to solve complex business and technology problems.
- Ability to gather complex requirements and translate them into executable roadmaps and delivery plans.
- Experience managing delivery teams in an Agile environment; familiarity with ITIL/ITSM practices strongly preferred.
- Experience building and supporting mission-critical, distributed applications and services with strong reliability and performance expectations.
- Strong financial and vendor management skills (budgeting, contracts, licensing, service performance).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence all levels of the business.
- Passion for quality and continuous improvement across both software engineering and IT operations (e.g., CI/CD, testing practices, change control, monitoring/observability).
- Working knowledge of modern application and integration technologies (e.g., .NET, REST/JSON services, Angular, Oracle/SQL Server).
- Ideal candidate has experience with ERP tools and third-party integrations (e.g., Salesforce, OroCommerce, Azure DevOps, Auth0) and enterprise identity/access management concepts.
