The Opportunity

The Contracts Specialist will support the project teams by assisting with the preparation, review, administration, and tracking of contracts across the Renewables sector. This role helps ensure effective contract governance, quality control, and operational efficiency throughout the contract lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detailoriented, organized, and eager to develop deeper expertise in commercial contracting while contributing to the protection of company assets and enabling strong client relationships. The Contract Specialist is part of Ulteig's Renewable Lifeline Sector reporting to the Contract Manager.

What You'll Do

The Contract Specialist has primary responsibility for all Ulteig contracts and ensures that Ulteig has appropriate systems and processes in place to streamline processes and decision-making while supporting Project Teams' response to clients.



  • Communicates and manages workflow of all contract stages. Reviews, revises, drafts, negotiates, and closes commercial contracts, including master services agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, licenses, RFP responses, NDAs, technology service agreements, and supporting documents across various business units.
  • Provides rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial contract advice directly to business clients.
  • Maintains contracts database, including updating subcontractor information and controlling administrative access.
  • Review contracts for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company standards prior to manager/legal review
  • Applies innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to maximize revenues, minimize risk, and foster long-term client relationships.
  • Collaborates with and facilitates cross-team decision-making among the Legal team, Finance & Accounting team, business teams, and other internal teams.
  • Maintain the contracts database, ensuring accuracy of contract records, subcontractor documentation, contract versions, and administrative access.
  • Help create and maintain guides, checklists, and tools that support consistent contracting practices.
  • Performs appropriate legal and operational research to support proposal and contract development.
  • Ensures monitoring systems in place for contract performance and compliance. Reviews contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal.
  • Recommends improvements and innovations to oversight of contract processes and ensures contract accuracy. Applies formal, best practice methodologies to develop and implement contract strategies to support business needs.
  • Develops and implements metrics and reports demonstrating effectiveness of contract function.
  • Works in partnership with outside counsel, as necessary, to resolve contract disputes and litigation.
  • Creates communications and training for Ulteig leaders and Project Teams on appropriate contracting procedures.
  • Creates and maintains positive working relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


    What We Expect from You



    • 5+ years of experience of negotiating and drafting contracts, with a deep understanding of contracts, contract management/governance, contractual language, and the contract lifecycle.
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal and financial implications.
    • Superior negotiation techniques and drafting skills.
    • Detail-oriented, organized, analytical, quick learner.
    • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced environment.
    • Diligent and proactive with sound business judgment and strategic thinking.
    • Ability to manage a significant volume of agreements in a timely manner.
    • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

    Additional Opportunity Details:
    Target Compensation Range for this Position is $65,300-$88,300*
    * The salary displayed represents the middle of a range. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
