Marketing Manager, Subscription Growth

AccuWeather is hiring a Marketing Manager to join its Marketing team. The Marketing Manager, Subscription Growth owns go-to-market execution and ongoing growth strategy for AccuWeather's consumer subscription business across app and web properties. This role sits on the Marketing team and serves as the primary marketing partner to Product and Consumer Revenue leaders, with responsibility for driving subscription acquisition, conversion, engagement, and lifecycle performance for the Premium+ service, as well as broader app marketing initiatives that improve engagement and app quality signals.

This is a hands-on, highly accountable role for driving subscription revenue growth and overall app performance, including conversion, retention, ARPU, and engagement. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in app and web marketing, lifecycle programs, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration, with a mindset rooted in continuous optimization and customer value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Define and execute the marketing strategy for Premium+ subscriptions across AccuWeather app and web properties, including Partner GTM strategy (offers, messaging, lifecycle flows).
  • Own app marketing initiatives beyond subscriptions, including user engagement programs, app rating and review growth, and experimentation to improve overall app health and quality signals.
  • Act as the primary marketing owner for subscription and upgrade experiences in partnership with Product.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Consumer Revenue teams to align product roadmap, offers, messaging, and upgrade experiences.
  • Drive conversion optimization across in-app, web, and lifecycle touchpoints, including upgrade modals, notifications, landing pages, and purchase flows.
  • Design and run lifecycle marketing programs spanning in-app messaging, push notifications, and email marketing to move users from free to trial to paid and retained subscribers.
  • Plan and execute seasonal, always-on, and promotional campaigns tied to weather moments, product launches, and key calendar events.
  • Drive a high-velocity experimentation cadence across creative, copy, offers, timing, and audience segmentation, with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with Paid Media and Acquisition teams to support subscription-focused growth initiatives and high-propensity audiences.
  • Translate user behavior, funnel performance, and campaign results into clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Develop clear and compelling creative briefs, test plans, and strategic documents to guide internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure consistent Premium+ value proposition and brand alignment across all consumer-facing touchpoints.
  • Manage timelines, priorities, and cross-functional dependencies to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in growth marketing, product marketing, lifecycle marketing, or consumer subscription marketing.
  • Experience optimizing marketing strategy for mature products in high-scale environments.
  • Demonstrated experience driving app and/or web conversion through testing, optimization, and lifecycle programs.
  • Strong understanding of subscription business models, free trials, pricing, retention, and churn dynamics.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Analytics teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Data-informed decision maker with experience using insights to guide strategy and execution.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience marketing consumer subscription products in mobile app environments.
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing tools, and lifecycle platforms.
  • Experience supporting partner or promotional marketing programs.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities.
