| Essential Job Duties |
Responsibilities of the Facility Maintenance Technician include:
- Responsible for repairs, installations and maintenance on building equipment, including changing ballasts, light bulbs and/or tubes, light switches, receptacles, door locks and general repairs on plumbing fixtures, refrigeration equipment, alarm and fire protection systems, piping and tubing, etc.
- Project manager for renovation projects. Work with general contractors and other vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to specifications. Manage timeline and notification of staff as needed to facilitate access to areas being renovated.
- Responsible for general carpentry, floor repairs, and general repairs to buildings
- Inspecting equipment for proper lubrication and perform other preventative maintenance duties as needed
- Checks out building problem areas, make necessary repairs and adjustments and recommendations as needed
- Refers complex situations to administration and makes recommendations as needed
- Performs routine building inspections, troubleshoots and makes repairs as needed
- Install and repair new and existing plumbing fixtures, drain lines and accessories
- Supervises periodic testing, servicing, and recording results of cross connection devices
- Performs preventive maintenance, installation and repair of water pipes, controls, and associated equipment
- Performs installation and repair of various types of electrical fixtures including lamp and ballast replacement
- Install and repair of electrical devices (switches, receptacles, breakers, transformers, etc.)
- Performs minor repair of heating, ventilation, and air condition equipment including some filter changing
- Monitors water chemical treatment programs for cooling towers and fountains
- Monitors customer space temperatures and adjust thermostats when needed
- Assists the HVAC technician with any building related mechanical or maintenance issues when required
- Investigates and monitors repeat customer-related calls and report them to the Building Systems Administrator
- Performs minor leak repairs to roof, window, and fountains
- Assists contractors with life safety alarm systems and water-based or dry fire protection systems shut downs and testing
- Performs installation and repair of ceiling tiles, wall coverings, vinyl tile, carpet, cove base, window blinds, signage, etc.
- Responsible for accurate and timely recordkeeping and reporting
- Serves as building liaison and event manager. Assists with set up and take down and work events as scheduled and special events as needed. Work with outside media, vendors to facilitate setup and appropriate electrical, etc...
- Provides assistance in maintaining all athletic facilities

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience in maintenance position preferably in an athletic venue.
- Prior experience working in Athletic Facilities Operations.
- Prior experience with set-up and take-down for athletic events.
- Knowledge of basic trades.
