Job Summary

The LIMS Administrator is responsible for routine support of LIMS and LIMS users, and provide additional support to the quality and other departments as directed by the Laboratory Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with LIMS Specialist on projects and routine application support.
    • Response and complete service tickets for new users, password resets, report distribution lists, etc.
    • Assist with entering laboratory and plant data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Supporting LIMS issues by managing the application email inbox.
  • Responsible for Records retention per DAR Policy for LIMS SOPs and documents.
  • Provide training to new LIMS users.
  • Communicate with LIMS users regarding updates or outages.
  • General clerical functions.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper flow of information via Ad Hoc query reports from LIMS.
  • Operates personal computer systems for purpose of storing, processing and transferring data and for other word and data processing purposes.
  • Responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations; recognizes that safety is top company priority.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of office experience.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, a fast learner, and preferably has experience or knowledge in LIMS and/or chemistry.
  • Detail oriented; highly organized.
  • Ability to work well with Darling internal staff and plant representatives and external customers.
  • Knowledge of LIMS or other data management software considered an asset.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter; self-motivated.
  • Good math and computer skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Sit: Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Walk: Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location.
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel: Operates a computer and other office machinery.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Must be able to position one's self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet.
  • Climb or balance: Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder.
  • Talk, hear, taste, smell: Must be able to use senses to; effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions.
