STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Aircraft A&P Maintenance Supervisor to lead afternoon shift maintenance operations in Waterford, Michigan. This role is designed for a hands on aviation leader who can balance aircraft maintenance execution, team leadership, and FAA compliance in a fast paced operational environment.


Position Overview

The Aircraft A&P Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, directing aircraft maintenance production, and ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate Aircraft Maintenance Technicians performing inspection, repair, modification, and troubleshooting
  • Direct daily maintenance production while balancing staffing levels, skill sets, and workload requirements
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel to promote high quality workmanship
  • Maintain workforce discipline and address personnel issues in coordination with management
  • Perform hands on aircraft maintenance including troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft systems
  • Adjust, align, calibrate, and test aircraft systems using approved tools and test equipment
  • Inspect aircraft structures, components, and systems for wear, damage, and airworthiness
  • Assemble, install, repair, and replace electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, and structural components
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
  • Ensure maintenance documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with FAA and company requirements
  • Inspect completed work to verify quality, conformity, and airworthiness
  • Coordinate with project managers and leadership to meet schedules, deadlines, and customer expectations
  • Serve as a point of escalation for maintenance issues and customer concerns
  • Enforce FAA, quality, safety, and security procedures across assigned personnel
  • Communicate incidents, irregular operations, and safety concerns to senior leadership
  • Support collaboration with quality, logistics, procurement, and administrative teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license with a clean compliance history
  • Minimum of 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including turbine powered aircraft
  • Experience working within an FAA approved Part 145 repair station
  • Part 135 operational experience required
  • Prior lead mechanic or supervisory experience preferred
  • Factory or equivalent training on business jet aircraft platforms preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across airframe and engine systems
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance documentation, and quality systems
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft manuals, drawings, and technical data
  • Experience with sheet metal repairs and aircraft painting is a plus
  • Flexibility to work afternoons, weekends, overtime, and alternate shifts as needed
  • Willingness to support occasional offsite maintenance
  • Strong communication skills with a safety and quality first mindset
