Position Summary:

The Responsible AI Consultant is a key member of SecurianFinancial'sArtificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AICoE), within the AI Technology & Platform Strategy team. This team serves as the enterprise's internal experts on how to apply AI atscaleturning strategy into enablement, consultation, and delivery support across the business.AI has the potential to transform the value we provide our customers, clients, and channelpartnersbut AI also has risksof bias, discrimination, information leakage, and sustainabilityconcernsamong others.In this role, you will help ensure AI solutions across Securian Financial are developed and deployed responsibly.You'llmaintainawareness of emerging AI risksand regulations, and partner closely with the AI Risk Management Working Groupand Legal andotherComplianceand Risk groupsto coach delivery teams throughthe Securian'sAI Risk Management and other compliance processes.You willhelpcurate andmaintaina registry ofenterprise AISolution Patterns for discoverabilityand transparency,andyou willconsult onand applyresponsible AI principles, policies,sustainabilityand DE&Iconsiderations, andhowthese considerations arecommunicated.This role is ideal for a highly curious, collaborative, and self-organized individual who enjoysconnectingpeople,process, and policy to help ensure AI is used safely, ethically, and effectively across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Partner deeply with the AI Risk Management Working Group to evaluate use cases, understand risk profiles, and promote consistent application of responsible AI controls.
  • Shepherd AIusecase owners and delivery teams through the enterprise'scompliance processesfrom intake to approvalproviding clarity, coaching, and supportto speedtodeployment with risk remediation.
  • Monitor emerging AIrisks,regulations, and industry best practices to help shape updates to internal AI policies, principles, safeguards, and risk evaluation methodologies.
  • Curate, enhance, andmaintainanenterpriseregistry ofAISolution Patterns, ensuring it isaccurate, auditable, and actionable for both oversight anddiscoverability needs.
  • Track and report onSecurian's responsible AI maturity, and enterprise trends to enable transparency andaccountability.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of reusable guidelines and repeatable processes that help associates adopt responsible AI behaviors with clarity and confidence.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Sustainabilityand Diversity Equity & Inclusionteamsto evaluate and recommend practicesto addressAI's environmentalimpactandrisks of discrimination.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Technology, Data Governance, and other stakeholders to ensure responsible AI expectations are embedded in solution architectures, vendor assessments, and delivery patterns.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials, communications, andclient and vendor inquiries around Securian's responsible use of AI along our customer, client, and channel partner lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, technology governance,or related areas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex AI use cases, risk scenarios, and regulatory considerations.
  • Curiosity and commitment to staying current on evolving AI regulations, standards, risks, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong communicationskills, including the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences.
  • Ability tolead through influence,build productive relationships,and collaborate with associates across technology, risk,compliance, sustainability, and business teams.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and help guide teams toward structured, repeatable processes.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies, data ethics, model governance, orothertechnology policyand frameworks (e.g., NIST AI Risk Management Framework, EU AI Act).
  • Background in sustainabilityand DE&Iconcepts related to technology or AIresource consumption,discrimination, andvendor reputations.

#LI-Hybrid**This position willhave a hybrid working arrangement, workingin-officefor a minimum of3days aweek.**

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$73,700.00 - $136,800.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
