Job Overview

The EEG Technologist Senior provides descriptive analysis of the waveforms and patterns relevant to the modality of their credentials but is not responsible for interpretation or clinical correlation of the data. The EEG Technologist Senior is credentialed in EEG (R. EEG T) and holds a second credential (CNIM, CLTM R. EP T.) providing general technical supervision and training of EEG Technician Entry thru EEG Technologist. Independently obtains high quality, artifact-free neurodiagnostic studies on patients in the outpatient laboratory and\or at the patient's bedside. Senior levels are competent and demonstrate advanced skills and expertise to provide the most complex monitoring needed for surgical cases and long-term EEG monitoring procedures.

  • Job Details: .90 FTE; 36 hours/week - eligible for benefits
  • Shift: Monday, Thursday, Friday 7:30am-8:00pm plus on-call rotation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

1. Performs complex and specialty EEG procedures, in the lab and/or at the bedside. Advanced in special procedure EEGs such as neonatal recordings, ECS recordings and PET scan recordings with all patient types.
2. Accomplishes set up of subdural grid/SEEG implants preoperatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively including but not limited to electrode set-up, montage creation/verification, troubleshooting, hook-up and discontinuation, and stimulation for cortical mapping. With documentation of competencies, per program guidelines.
3. Assists in establishing and maintaining procedures, protocols, and quality assurance programs.
4. Maintains equipment and lab in good and clean condition; verbalizes malfunction to the Clinical Department Leadership as needed.
5. Mentors all EEG Tech levels in advanced procedures providing guidance and expertise ensuring appropriate skill utilization and understanding.
6. Demonstrates advanced understanding and application in analysis of EEG data. Completes all documentation for procedures being conducted; follows up with archiving of records.
7. Programs VNS during procedures in the OR based on program guidelines.
8. Follows the International 10-20 system for proper electrode application.
9. Ensures ACNS Guidelines are followed for all Neurodiagnostic procedures.
10. Identifies and performs advanced technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination.
11. Maintains current knowledge to assure a safe working environment and demonstrate practical application of all policies & procedures relative to safety, infection control, standard precautions, and risk management.
12. Observe, notate, and analyze ongoing clinical and technical changes, adjusting the testing procedures as appropriate for individual recording session.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Electroneurodiagnostics including completion of clinicals and one (1) of pediatric experience.
Equivalency: None
Certification(s): BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR
Licensure(s): ABRET Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) plus 1 of the following:
Certified Long-Term Monitoring (CLTM), Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (REPT), Certification for Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM), American Board of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range: $31.55 to $47.32
