Join our dynamic Recreation TEAM and take a leadership role in enhancing our guests' leisure experience! As an Assistant Recreation Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Recreation Department, including the Activities Center, daily events, Pool Attendants, Lifeguards, Lake Austin Pier, and Water Park. Essential Job Functions:



  • Supervise and support daily recreation operations, ensuring seamless execution of activities and guest experiences.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing recreation team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Schedule and manage team members, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for water park, pool, lake, and recreation activities.
  • Monitor and enforce safety policies across all recreation areas, including pools, lazy rivers, water slides, and the pier.
  • Respond to emergency situations as a first responder and assist in ensuring guest and employee safety.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all recreation areas, including cabanas, towel stations, and event spaces.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee guest activities, including themed events, group activities, and recreational programs.
  • Work closely with outside vendors for water sports, scuba, and other recreational offerings.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies, ensuring the team has necessary equipment, tools, and uniforms.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, proactively addressing concerns and providing information about the resort and surrounding area.
  • Lead by example by delivering best-in-class service and creating memorable experiences for guests.



Hotel Specific:



  • Working both indoors and outdoors. Outside in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Work in multiple areas across the properties



Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50 lbs
  • Primarily standing for majority of shift


Qualifications:

Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Hospitality, Recreation, or a related field preferred.


Experience:



  • Previous hotel or resort experience preferred, with at least one year in a supervisory recreation or guest service role.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
