Job Description:

Perkins Coie Trust Company is searching for an Investment Administrator to support the Investment team of Perkins Coie Trust Company, including the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Trust Officer & President, the Chief Investment Officer, and additional Investment Officers. This role supports investment management activities such as research and analysis, performance measurement, client reporting, investment compliance, and trade execution.

The Investment Administrator works collaboratively across the company, represents Perkins Coie with professionalism in client interactions, and manages priorities to support business goals. Responsibilities also include assisting with client meetings and presentations, maintaining electronic records in accordance with retention policies using the firm's document management system (DMS), and performing additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

Trade Placement

  • Place trades as directed, ensuring compliance with trading and best execution policy.

  • Maintain investment models in portfolio management software in support of periodic portfolio rebalancing.

  • Develop and maintain quality business relationships with brokers and maintain due diligence files.

Research and Analysis

  • Assist Investment Officers in research of market conditions, specific investments, and portfolio strategies.

  • Advise team of price alerts, corporate actions, and changes in security ratings where applicable.

  • Review fixed-income offerings to determine whether inventory meets specified criteria.

  • Assist with quantitative analysis on defined universe of equity/fixed income securities.

  • Support screening and selection of mutual funds/exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for use in client accounts and the firm's retirement plan models.

  • Assist in monitoring recommended mutual fund/ETF performance and maintain internal retirement model website.

  • Make effective use of analytical tools including Bloomberg, Morningstar, and FIS in support of portfolio reviews and ongoing portfolio management.

  • Maintain research files on all investments in accordance with company procedure.

  • Gather proxies and maintain records in compliance with company policy.

Reporting

  • Prepare reports used by the Investment team and Trust Investment Committee, serve as assistant to the secretary to record minutes, and ensure proper organizational governance.

  • Assist in preparation of performance reports, investment reports, presentations, newsletters, and marketing materials in support of the firm's high-level marketing, brand, and client-service standards.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of financial markets, investment vehicles, and strategies.

  • Superb organizational/time management skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to concurrently prioritize and perform multiple assignments with limited supervision.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills and the ability to distill relevant data.

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with investment software including Bloomberg, FIS, and Morningstar.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent in securities operations, investment management, brokerage, or finance.

  • 1-3 years of experience in performance measurement and trade execution.

  • Must have a demonstrated track record in support of investment functions.

This position may be filled in the following location(s).The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range.Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.

Washingtonstate compensation range: $73,170 to $108,720 annually
